In which reality doesn't exist

I'm not entirely sure where this came from. I might like to put Kairi in life-threatening situations more than it is healthy to do so, I guess.

Snow, as annoying as it was getting it into your boots, was the least of Kairi's problems at the moment. His head throbbed and somewhere far away he could hear the muffled echo of a large church bell ringing. Whether the bell ringing was real or not he didn't know or care because the idea of being thrown into a river in the middle of winter was not the most appetizing idea in the world. But he didn't exactly have a choice in the matter and the two men dragging him by the arms through the snow didn't care very much for his opinion on his oncoming fate anyways.

Then again, it was his fault in the first place for getting caught like this. If only he had been more careful of his surroundings when he was making his escape after the assassination. Then he wouldn't have had the pleasure of getting knocked unconscious by some half-drunk asshole who he could have easily beaten on a day when he wasn't so fucking stupid.

This is pretty much how I spent my 9am anthropology class this morning. There was something going on in the background about the formation of language, chimpanzees and gender vs sex (my teacher loves tangents like kids love candy) but here I was scribbling about why people like certain characters and character types and Luke Skywalker got compared to Harry Potter (which ended up making more sense than I expected...and I feel dumb for it haha). I think I went on short tangents about what character types were popular when and why they were popular and there was some anxious worrying about my story Absolution thrown in at the end.

Basically it's a lot of tl;dr.

I don't hate them to the ends of the earth or anything but I've never been interested in making one; not one of those three-strip newspaper gags, the Marvel/DC comics, the millions of webcomics out there right now, or a full-on graphic novel ala Frank Miller's Sin City (did I get everyone?). Just didn't strike my interest.

But then the crazy idea that I might have a sense of humor snuck into my sleep-deprived brain.

Look, he doesn't have enough other stuff on his face (scratches, dirt smears) on his face to justify there being one lonely bruise. What, did you think he got brained with a rock and called it quits? The man was in a war (yay conquering the planet do-di-do-do) and I am fucking lazy so its totally a valid excuse for making him look too...clean.

...with accompanying boring uniforms. I'm not even kidding when I say that Kairi and Leja's uniforms really are black and white, just fyi.
